Illinois High School Basketball - Wethersfield nips Monmouth-Roseville
December 29, 2023: Monmouth, IL 61462 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL) and the host Monmouth-Roseville Titans (Monmouth, IL), saw Wethersfield's basketball squad hold off Monmouth-Roseville by a tally of 42-35.
With the victory, Wethersfield improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Flying Geese travel to Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 30. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 14-4. Lena-Winslow won 40-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Mercer County (Aledo, IL)
Next up, the Titans play the Riverdale Rams (Port Byron, IL) in a Three Rivers - West challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Monmouth-Roseville will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Rams come into the battle with a 11-4 record after their 35-25 non-league loss to Sherrard (Sherrard, IL).
