Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 44-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hickory upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Red Tornadoes host Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC) to clash with the Greenwave in a non-league bout on Monday, December 6. The Greenwave go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Ashbrook won 48-43 in their recent non-league bout against East Lincoln (Denver, NC)

Next up, the Red Devils clash with the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 7. Newton-Conover will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 32-17 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC).
