December 30, 2022: Rochester, MN 55904 The Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) basketball nipped the visiting Byron Bears (Byron, MN), 57-52 in Friday's non-league test.
The Spartans (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Owatonna (Owatonna, MN). The Huskies go into the AAAA Section 1 test with a 5-2 record. In their last test, Owatonna got by Denfeld (Duluth, MN), 79-56, in a non-league test.
The Bears now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to New Prague for a non-league test on Thursday, January 5. Byron will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 85-73 non-league loss to Austin (Austin, MN). The Trojans record now stands at 1-7.
