Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Jacobs Golden Eagles (Algonquin, IL) and the visiting South Elgin Storm (South Elgin, IL), saw Jacobs's basketball squad overcome South Elgin by a tally of 51-42.

With the victory, Jacobs improves its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles host Butler (Chicago, IL) to confront the Lynx in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Lynx come into the challenge with a record of 4-11. Butler lost 51-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Dunbar (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Storm confront the Aurora East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) in a Upstate Eight challenge, on Friday, January 6. South Elgin will attempt to improve on its 8-8 season record. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 81-68 non-league win over Plainfield Central (Plainfield, IL).
