In Friday's non-league outing, the Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball squad felled the host Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA), by a margin of 57-39.

The Scotties (7-0) will now prepare for their outing against Carlynton (Carnegie, PA). The Cougars go into the WPIAL 1A 1 outing with a 6-2 record. In their last outing, Carlynton thwarted Brentwood (Pittsburgh, PA), 71-39, in a non-league outing.
