The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball crushed the visiting Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA), 79-37 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Scotties (4-0) will now prepare for their test against Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA). The Quakers go into the non-league test with a 4-1 record. In their last test, Quaker Valley walloped Ambridge (Ambridge, PA), 46-41, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Hopewell for a non-league test on Wednesday, December 28. Riverside will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 40-39 league loss to Ambridge (Ambridge, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 4-6.
