North Carolina High School Basketball - South Granville can't hold off Wake Forest

The Wake Forest Cougars basketball team scored 80 points and held the host South Granville Vikings to 79 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Knightdale for a 4A Conference 27 contest on Friday, January 6. Wake Forest will battle a Knights team coming off a 59-45 non-league loss to Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC). The Knights record now stands at 6-8.

The Vikings (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Goldsboro (Goldsboro, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 9-1 record. In their last contest, Goldsboro nudged Wayne Country Day (Goldsboro, NC), 74-63, in a non-league contest.
