Springfield Cosmos (Springfield, VT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT), 59-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Springfield upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Cosmos travel to Windsor (Windsor, VT) to clash with the Yellowjackets in a Marble Valley - B bout on Monday, January 2. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Windsor won 56-31 in their recent non-league bout against White River Valley (Royalton, VT)

Next up, the Chieftains clash with the White River Valley Wildcats (Royalton, VT) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Green Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 56-31 non-league loss to Windsor (Windsor, VT).
