The McKinney Lions basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Shadow Creek Sharks to 57 in the Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Allen for a 6A Region I District 5 contest on Tuesday, January 3. McKinney will meet a Eagles team coming off a 48-37 non-league win over Hendrickson (Pflugerville, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 18-5.

The Sharks (14-10) will now prepare for their contest against Alief Hastings (Houston, TX). The Bears enter the 6A Region III District 23 contest with a 16-7 record. In their last contest, Alief Hastings was nudged by Hays (Buda, TX), 42-34, in a non-league contest.
