DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Salesianum Sallies (Wilmington, DE), 67-60 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, DeMatha upgrades its record to 10-2 on the campaign. The Stags travel to Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) to play the Mustangs in a Washington Catholic bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 8-4. Bishop McNamara won 68-65 in their recent non-league bout against St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Sallies play the Malvern Prep Friars (Malvern, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Salesianum will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Friars come into the bout with a 9-0 record after their 70-57 non-league win over La Salle College (Wyndmoor, PA).
