The McCool Junction Mustangs basketball team scored 41 points and held the host Freeman Falcons to 25 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lawrence-Nelson for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2. McCool Junction will battle a Raiders team coming off a 59-34 non-league loss to Gothenburg (Gothenburg, NE). The Raiders record now stands at 5-3.

The Falcons (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southern (Wymore, NE). The Raiders enter the C2 District 1 contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Southern ran past Lourdes Central Catholic (Nebraska City, NE), 49-27, in a non-league contest.
