The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls held off the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks basketball team by a score of 69-62 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Ragin' Bulls now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to A.L. Brown for a 4A Greater Metro battle on Wednesday, January 3.

The Mavericks (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against Harding University (Charlotte, NC). The Rams come into the 3A/4A Queen City battle with a 4-7 record. In their last battle, Harding University edged Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC), 54-31, in a non-league battle.
