North Carolina High School Basketball - Holly Springs thwarted by New Hanover

The Holly Springs Golden Hawks basketball team (Holly Springs, NC), was toppled 53-42 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC)

The Wildcats now possess a 9-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashley for a 3A/4A Mideastern battle on Friday, January 5.

The Golden Hawks (10-2) will now prepare for their battle against Middle Creek (Apex, NC). The Mustangs come into the 4A Southeast Wake battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Middle Creek was toppled by South Garner (Garner, NC), 49-38, in a non-league battle.
