Texas High School Basketball - Johnson fells Lake Belton
December 30, 2023: Buda, TX 78610 Johnson Jaguars (Buda, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lake Belton Broncos (Temple, TX), 81-64 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Johnson upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Jaguars host Akins (Austin, TX) to play the Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 9-11. Akins lost 71-53 in their recent non-league bout against Shoemaker (Killeen, TX)
Next up, the Broncos play the Waco Lions (Waco, TX) in a 5A Region III District 22 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Lake Belton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-13 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 64-48 non-league win over South Garland (Garland, TX).
