Texas High School Basketball - La Joya nips Montwood
December 30, 2023: La Joya, TX 78560 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) and the visiting Montwood Rams (El Paso, TX), saw La Joya's basketball squad hold off Montwood by a tally of 32-27.
With the victory, La Joya improves its record to 13-13 on the campaign. The Coyotes travel to Weslaco (Weslaco, TX) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 9-12. Weslaco won 44-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Mission (Mission, TX)
Next up, the Rams play the El Dorado Aztecs (El Paso, TX) in a 6A Region I District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Montwood will attempt to improve on its 13-8 season record.
