The Laney Buccaneers tipped the visiting Wakefield Wolverines basketball team by a final score of 60-58 in Saturday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Buccaneers face the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern game, on Friday, January 5. Laney will attempt to move on its 10-1 season record. The Vikings enter the game with a 8-4 record after their 59-51 non-league win over Cary (Cary, NC).
