Mississippi High School Basketball - Noxubee County nips West Point
December 30, 2023: Macon, MS 39341 Noxubee County Tigers (Macon, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS), 53-52 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Noxubee County upgrades its record to 4-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to North Panola (Sardis, MS) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-5. North Panola won 55-53 in their recent non-league bout against Byers (Holly Springs, MS)
Next up, the Green Wave play the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) in a 5A Region 1 bout, on Friday, January 5. West Point will attempt to upgrade on its 8-5 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 70-62 non-league win over Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, AL).
