Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Velva Aggies (Velva, ND) and the host St. John Woodchucks (St. John, ND), saw Velva's basketball squad wallop St. John by a tally of 77-40.

With the victory, Velva improves its record to 1-5 on the campaign. The Aggies travel to Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood (Renville, ND) to confront the Mavericks in a B District 8 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Woodchucks confront the Bottineau Braves/Stars (Bottineau, ND) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. St. John will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Braves/Stars come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 65-54 non-league loss to Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (Linton, ND).
