The Connally Cadets basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Ponder Lions to 48 in the Cadets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cadets now sport a 16-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to China Spring for a 4A Region III District 23 contest on Friday, January 5.

The Lions (19-6) will now prepare for their contest against Valley View (Valley View, TX). The Eagles enter the 3A Region II District 10 contest with a 3-6 record. In their last contest, Valley View ran past Callisburg (Gainesville, TX), 44-26, in a league contest.
