Connecticut High School Basketball - Newtown trounces East Lyme
December 30, 2023: East Lyme, CT 06333 The Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) basketball crushed the host East Lyme Vikings (East Lyme, CT), 45-21 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Nighthawks (6-0) will now prepare for their test against Bethel (Bethel, CT). The Wildcats go into the Southwest - Patriot test with a 5-2 record. In their last test, Bethel walloped Greenwich (Greenwich, CT), 46-33, in a non-league test.
The Vikings now own a 0-7 record. They play next when they travel to Woodstock Academy for a Eastern Connecticut - 1 test on Tuesday, January 2. East Lyme will battle a Centaurs team coming off a 63-27 non-league win over Amistad (New Haven, CT). The Centaurs record now stands at 6-1.
