The Newtown Nighthawks basketball team scored 46 points and restricted the visiting Norwich Free Academy Wildcats to 39 in the Nighthawks non-league victory on Saturday.

The Nighthawks now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brookfield for a Southwest - Patriot contest on Tuesday, December 19. Newtown will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 58-47 league loss to New Milford (New Milford, CT). The Bobcats record now stands at 0-2.

The Wildcats (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Ledyard (Ledyard, CT). The Colonels come into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Ledyard edged Waterford (Waterford, CT), 48-40, in a league contest.
