Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hershey Panthers (Hershey, NE), 72-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gothenburg upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Swedes host McCook (McCook, NE) to clash with the Bison in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Bison go into the bout with a record of 6-4.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the South Loup (Arnold, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Hershey will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 51-16 non-league win over Sandhills Valley (Stapleton, NE).
