The Northwest Halifax Vikings (Littleton, NC) basketball ran past the visiting Vance County Vipers (Henderson, NC), 63-45 in Monday's non-league contest.

The Vikings (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC). The Jaguars go into the 1A Tar Roanoke contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Rocky Mount Prep was topped by SouthWest Edgecombe (Pinetops, NC), 79-67, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Vipers confront the Carrboro Jaguars (Carrboro, NC) in a 2A/3A Northern Lakes contest, on Friday, January 3. Vance County will attempt to better on its 3-8 season record.
