December 4, 2025: Greensburg, PA 15601 The Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) basketball edged the visiting Greater Latrobe Wildcats (Latrobe, PA), 61-59 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Spartans now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Penn-Trafford for a non-league bout on Friday, December 5. Hempfield Area will play a Warriors team coming off a 69-55 non-league loss to Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Greater Latrobe moves to 2-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Mars (Mars, PA) to encounter the Fightin' Planets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 9. The Fightin' Planets come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Mars won 77-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Perry Traditional Academy (Pittsburgh, PA)
