In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Richton Rebels basketball team scored a close 52-48 triumph over the Sumrall Bobcats.

The Rebels (6-0) will now prepare for their contest against Purvis (Purvis, MS). The Tornadoes go into the non-league contest with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Purvis was nudged by West Marion (Foxworth, MS), 49-44, in a non-league match.

The Bobcats now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Picayune for a non-league match on Friday, December 5. Sumrall will face a Maroon Tide squad coming off a 59-50 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 4-4.
