In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Weslaco Panthers basketball team scored a good 51-40 triumph over the Southwest Dragons.

The Panthers (16-0) will now prepare for their match against Crystal City (Crystal City, TX). The Javelinas enter the non-league match with a 11-0 record. In their last match, Crystal City notched a victory over Brandeis (San Antonio, TX), 58-48, in a non-league match.
