In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Alexander Bulldogs basketball squad scored a tight 49-45 victory over the Southwest Dragons.

With the victory, Alexander advances its record to 9-7 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Crystal City (Crystal City, TX) to face the Javelinas in a non-league match on Wednesday, December 10. The Javelinas enter the match with a record of 12-4. Crystal City lost 50-33 in their recent non-league match against Bishop (Bishop, TX)

The Dragons now own a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McCollum for a 5A Region IV District 28 match on Tuesday, December 9. Southwest will battle a Cowboys team coming off a 47-37 non-league win over Edinburg (Edinburg, TX). The Cowboys record now stands at 13-3.
