Texas High School Basketball - Abernathy thwarts New Deal
December 5, 2023: Abernathy, TX 79311 The Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX), 57-42 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Antelopes (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Tatum (Tatum, NM). The Coyotes go into the non-league test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Tatum went down by Capitan (Capitan, NM), 40-39, in a non-league test.
The Lions now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Tahoka for a non-league test on Thursday, December 7. New Deal will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-35 non-league win over Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-4.
