Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mahanoy Area crushes Jim Thorpe
December 5, 2023: Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA), 62-17 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mahanoy Area upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Golden Bears host Our Lady of Lourdes Regional (Coal Township, PA) to play the Red Raiders in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 7. The Red Raiders go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional lost 56-41 in their recent non-league bout against MMI Preparatory School (Freeland, PA)
Next up, the Olympians play the Panther Valley Panthers (Lansford, PA) in a Schuylkill County 1 bout, on Thursday, December 7. Jim Thorpe will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 75-49 non-league win over Weatherly (Weatherly, PA).
