The Mathews Mustangs basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Maplewood Rockets to 34 in the Mustangs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Chalker for a Northeastern contest on Friday, December 8. Mathews will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 52-43 league win over Lordstown (Warren, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.

The Rockets (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Badger (Kinsman, OH). The Braves enter the Northeastern contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Badger triumphed over Harding (Fairport Harbor, OH), 75-61, in a league contest.
