In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team scored a close 51-48 win over the Cloudland Highlanders.

The Mountaineers (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Unicoi County (Erwin, TN). The Blue Devils come into the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Unicoi County was tipped by Tennessee (Bristol, TN), 67-52, in a non-league contest.
