Illinois High School Basketball - ROWVA/Williamsfield can't hold off Elmwood
December 5, 2024: Elmwood, IL 61529 Elmwood Trojans (Elmwood, IL) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars (Oneida, IL), 44-40 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Elmwood advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Trojans host Havana (Havana, IL) to face the Ducks in a Prairieland match on Monday, December 9. The Ducks enter the match with a record of 4-3. Havana won 73-41 in their recent non-league match against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] (Winchester, IL)
The Cougars now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Illini Bluffs for a Tomahawk match on Saturday, December 7. ROWVA/Williamsfield will face a Tigers squad coming off a 55-52 non-league loss to East Peoria (East Peoria, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 2-5.
