The Cotopaxi Pirates defeated the host Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers basketball team by a tally of 43-33 in Friday's league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Crested Butte for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 6. Cotopaxi will play a Titans team coming off a 52-6 non-league loss to Salida (Salida, CO). The Titans record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Cripple Creek-Victor falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Custer County (Westcliffe, CO) to clash with the Bobcats in a 2A/1A West Central bout on Thursday, December 18. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 2-1.
