The Newton Tigers basketball squad scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Forest Bearcats to 29 in the Tigers non-league win on Friday.

Next, the Tigers clash with the Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS) in a non-league outing, on Friday, December 12. Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record.

The Bearcats (3-2) will now prepare for their outing against Scott Central (Forest, MS). The Rebels go into the non-league game with a 7-0 record. In their last bout, Scott Central crushed Clarkdale (Meridian, MS), 44-17, in a non-league bout.
