Illinois High School Basketball - Highland Park holds off Vernon Hills

December 6, 2023: Highland Park, IL 60035

Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Highland Park Giants (Highland Park, IL) and the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL), saw Highland Park's basketball squad hold off Vernon Hills by a tally of 39-35.

With the victory, Highland Park improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Giants travel to Glenbrook North (Northbrook, IL) to confront the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 11. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 4-3.

The Cougars now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Warren Township for a non-league test on Saturday, December 9. Vernon Hills will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 41-25 league loss to Stevenson (Lincolnshire, IL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 4-4.
