In Friday's non-league contest, the host Willow Canyon Wildcats basketball team scored a close 58-51 triumph over the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions.

The Wildcats (6-0) will now prepare for their contest against Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ). The Wolves go into the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Desert Mountain was tipped by Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, AZ), 62-25, in a non-league contest.
