In Friday's non-league contest, the host Shiprock Chieftains basketball team scored a big 52-25 triumph over the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers.

The Chieftains (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Navajo Prep smashed Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM), 40-23, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Bloomfield Bobcats (Bloomfield, NM) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 7. Montezuma-Cortez will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Bobcats go into the contest with a 2-1 record after their 40-23 non-league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM).
