Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany edges Galax

The Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) basketball nipped the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 45-42 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Trojans (2-1) will now prepare for their test against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Sauras go into the 1A Conference 36 test with a 3-2 record. In their last test, South Stokes was tipped by North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 69-60, in a non-league test.

The Maroon Tide now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Auburn for a Mountain Empire test on Friday, December 9. Galax will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 73-36 non-league win over Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-1.
