Maryland High School Basketball - Oxon Hill nips Surrattsville
December 7, 2023: Clinton, MD 20735 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Oxon Hill Clippers (Oxon Hill, MD) and the host Surrattsville Hornets (Clinton, MD), saw Oxon Hill's basketball squad hold off Surrattsville by a count of 57-53.
With the victory, Oxon Hill upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Clippers travel to Jefferson (Brooklyn, NY) to play the Orange Wave in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 9. The Orange Wave come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Jefferson won 98-56 in their recent league challenge against Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn, NY)
Next up, the Hornets play the Potomac Wolverines (Oxon Hill, MD) in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Surrattsville will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 84-77 league loss to Central (Capitol Heights, MD).
