Maryland High School Basketball - Gwynn Park overwhelms Surrattsville
January 12, 2024: Brandywine, MD 20613 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets (Brandywine, MD) and the visiting Surrattsville Hornets (Clinton, MD), saw Gwynn Park's basketball squad wallop Surrattsville by a tally of 86-33.
With the victory, Gwynn Park improves its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Hayfield (Alexandria, VA) to play the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 13. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Hayfield won 57-35 in their recent league challenge against Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA)
Next up, the Hornets play the Crossland Cavaliers (Temple Hills, MD) in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Surrattsville will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 56-50 league loss to College Park Academy (Riverdale, MD).
