Texas High School Basketball - Poth tops Calhoun
December 7, 2023: Port Lavaca, TX 77979 Poth Pirates (Poth, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX), 41-28 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Poth upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Shiner (Shiner, TX) to play the Comanches in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Comanches come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Shiner won 44-5 in their recent non-league bout against El Campo (El Campo, TX)
Next up, the Sandcrabs play the Cuero Gobblers (Cuero, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Calhoun will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Gobblers come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 40-30 non-league win over Shiner (Shiner, TX).
