In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Leakey Eagles basketball team scored a close 47-44 triumph over the Knippa Crushers.

The Eagles (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against D'Hanis (D'Hanis, TX). The Cowboys go into the 1A Region IV District 31 contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, D'Hanis was tipped by Nueces Canyon (Barksdale, TX), 29-25, in a non-league contest.
