Illinois High School Basketball - Somonauk bested by Genoa-Kingston
December 7, 2024: Genoa, IL 60135 Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Somonauk Bobcats (Somonauk, IL), 54-39 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Genoa-Kingston advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Cogs host Oregon (Oregon, IL) to face the Hawks in a non-league match on Saturday, December 7. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 0-1. Oregon lost 50-38 in their recent non-league match against Marian Central Catholic (Woodstock, IL)
The Bobcats now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hinckley-Big Rock for a non-league match on Friday, December 13. Somonauk will face a Royals squad coming off a 63-33 non-league win over Ashton-Franklin Center (Ashton, IL). The Royals record now stands at 1-1.
