North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence overwhelms Weddington

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC), saw Independence's basketball squad wallop Weddington by a tally of 63-37.

With the victory, Independence improves its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Patriots host Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Cougars in a 4A Southwestern challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 5-0. Charlotte Catholic won 50-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Providence Day (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Warriors confront the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Weddington will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 55-52 non-league win over Indian Land (Fort Mill, SC).
