North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence crushes East Mecklenburg

Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), 82-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Patriots host Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC) to play the Ravens in a 4A Southwestern bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Ravens come into the bout with a record of 6-15. Rocky River lost 53-29 in their recent league bout against Providence (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A Southwestern bout, on Tuesday, February 13. East Mecklenburg will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 20-3 record after their 61-39 league win over Butler (Matthews, NC).
