Tennessee High School Basketball - Cocke County overwhelms Grainger
December 9, 2022: Newport, TN 37821 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN) and the visiting Grainger Grizzlies (Rutledge, TN), saw Cocke County's basketball squad wallop Grainger by a tally of 66-33.
With the victory, Cocke County improves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Fighting Cocks travel to Morristown-Hamblen West (Morristown, TN) to confront the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 6-2. Morristown-Hamblen West lost 68-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Unicoi County (Erwin, TN)
Next up, the Grizzlies confront the Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 15. Grainger will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 96-66 league loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN).
