Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the host Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA), saw Amherst County's basketball squad wallop Appomattox County by a tally of 56-35.

With the victory, Amherst County improves its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Glass (Lynchburg, VA) to confront the Hilltoppers in a Seminole challenge on Monday, December 12. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a record of 2-2. Glass won 46-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Chatham (Chatham, VA)

Next up, the Raiders confront the Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) in a Dogwood challenge, on Tuesday, December 13. Appomattox County will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Colonels come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 42-34 non-league loss to Cumberland (Cumberland, VA).
