Elk River Elks (Elk River, MN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Blaine Bengals (Blaine, MN), 56-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elk River upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Elks travel to Moorhead (Moorhead, MN) to play the Spuds in a AAAA Section 8 bout on Saturday, December 10. The Spuds come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Moorhead lost 80-44 in their recent non-league bout against West Fargo (West Fargo, ND)

Next up, the Bengals play the Buffalo Bison (Buffalo, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Blaine will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record.
