Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC), 21-20 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lakewood upgrades its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Leopards host Midway (Dunn, NC) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Gators play the Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. East Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record.
