Simla Cubs (Simla, CO) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Merino Rams (Merino, CO), 55-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Simla improves its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Cubs host Crested Butte (Crested Butte, CO) to confront the Titans in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 15. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 3-1. Crested Butte lost 74-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Plateau Valley (Collbran, CO)

Next up, the Rams confront the Prairie Mustangs (New Raymer, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 14. Merino will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 57-18 non-league win over Union Colony Prep (Greeley, CO).
